Marseille reached the French Cup final for the first time in 15 years after they crushed Rennes 3-0 at the Stade Velodrome. Frank Ribery opened the score after just 17 seconds when he capitalized on a dreadful error by Rennes defender Gregory Bourillon, who gave the ball away easily inside the area, before chipping the ball over the advancing keeper. Nigerian international Taye Taiwo doubled the lead in the 18th minute after he sent a powerful free-kick from the edge of the area into the back of the net. Senegal's Mamadou Niang sealed the victory just before the break following a close-range shot past Rennes keeper Andreas Isaksson. Marseille will face in the French Cup final Paris Saint Germain, who grabbed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Nantes. Mauro Cetto's goal for Nantes in the 72nd minute cancelled out Fabrice Pancrate's opener in the 68th minute before Portuguese international Pedro Pauleta scored a late winner to lead his club to the final.
