Juventus boss Fabio Capello heaped to the defense of his side's performance in their disappointing UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of England's Arsenal. "I think we put in a good performance against a side that focuses on the counter-attack. We created some chances and didn't make the most of them," Capello was quoted as saying by Football Italia magazine after the match. "We gave Arsenal a few opportunities as well, but I complimented my squad and could not have asked for more effort," he added. The Italian champions were knocked out of the UCL's quarter-finals after they were held to a goalless home draw with Arsenal, as they lost the first-leg in Highbury 2-0. The former Roma boss paid tribute to Arsenal, ruing his bad luck that made him face his English opponents during their peak. "Arsenal are on fine form at the moment and it would've been better to face them a few months ago when they were struggling," he said. "Their pace is a particular problem when you're chasing the game," the Italian veteran added. Capello said has not given hope of winning Bianconeri's main target competition under his guidance. “When you start the season there are two objectives for a Coach and he always puts the Champions League a little bit higher than the domestic title," he said. "It's not easy to win in Europe, but we will try again," he added.
