Surprise package Villarreal edged past Italian giants Inter Milan with a 1-0 on Tuesday to reach the semi-final on their UEFA Champions League debut. Rodolfo Arruabarrena scored Villarreal's only goal two minutes from the hour to hand the Spanish outfit their final four berth. Villarreal advanced with a 2-2 aggregate draw thanks to the away-goal rule and will face the winner from Wednesday's quarter-final between Arsenal and Juventus. The Yellow Submarines took possession of the ball for the majority of the match that saw both sides waste a host of opportunities to score. Their salvation came in the 58th minute when Juan Roman Riquelme sent a free-kick into the path of the airborne Arruabarrena who brushed the ball past Inter keeper Francesco Toldo. Diego Forlan squandered an excellent chance to double Villarreal's lead after firing a Riquelme's cross just past the post in the 81st minute.
