Arsenal reached the UEFA Champions League semi-finals for the first time in history after holding Juventus to a goalless draw at the Stadio Delle Alpi on Wednesday. The Gunners defeated the Italian giants 2-0 last week at Highbury, limiting their job in the second-leg to only maintain the goal difference to ensure qualification. Juventus lost Pavel Nedved in the 77th minute after being sent-off following his second booking for a challenge on Arsenal's Emmanuel Eboue. A solid Arsenal defense blocked the Italian league leaders' attacking attempts throughout the match. The visitors also wasted a host of chances to widen the gap. Juventus defender Gianluca Zambrotta failed to finish a wide volley in the 15th minute and Nedved squandered a perfect opportunity to open the score in the 70th minute after firing the ball wide. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger looked frustrated at Jose Antonio Reyes' booking in the 38th minute, for time-wasting after stepping-up for a corner-kick, which will see him miss the first-leg of the semis. Arsenal, who didn't concede a goal throughout the previous eight matches, will next face Spanish surprise package Villarreal in after the latter defeated Italian outfit Inter Milan in the quarter-finals.
