Chelsea edge Newcastle to reach FA semis

Premiership Champions Chelsea snatched a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Newcastle United to advance to the FA Cup semi-finals and stay on course for the domestic double.
England defender John Terry scored the winner early in the first-half then led the back line to keep a clean sheet and escape with the victory on Wednesday.
Captain Terry connected with a corner-kick from Damien Duff and buried a low drive home in the fourth minute.
Newcastle played with 10 men for about four minutes as Robbie Elliott saw red after being handed a second yellow card.
Chelsea, who are close to retaining their Premiership title, are now the favorites to win the FA Cup and secure the English double under coach Jose Mourinho.
Earlier this week, European dethroned champions Liverpool produced a 7-0 drubbing of Birmingham and West Ham United edged Manchester City 2-1 to advance to the same round.
The last semi-finalists will be identified when Charlton Athletic play Middlesbrough on Thursday, one day before the last-four draw takes place.
