Harras Al-Hodoud launched an official appeal over the controversial dismissal of skipper Mohamed Halim against Ahli in the local league and demanded a rematch, the club said on Tuesday. Referee Ahmed Oada handed Halim a red card just after re-start over a harsh challenge he made in the first-half against Mohamed Barakat, an unprecedented incident in Egyptian football. "This was a very weird decision and confused the head coach who fielded 11 players and then, suddenly, suffered a numerical disadvantage before kicking-off the play," Al-Hodoud vice president Sami Abdul-Galil told FilGoal.com. "What if the head coach decided to substitute Halim in the interval, would the referee have booked the substitute or send Halim off while on the bench? "We launched an official appeal and if it is accepted, the game should be replayed." Al-Hodoud lost 1-0 to Ahli at home on Monday to stay fifth with 29 points.
