The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has hit Harras Al-Hodoud coach Helmi Toulan with a severe ban and fine following his latest comments against refereeing. Toulan has been suspended for four games, instead of the normal three, fined EGP 20,000 for questioning the actions of Egyptian referees in public after his side's defeats against local powerhouses Ahli and Zamalek. Alexandria-based Al-Hodoud lost 1-0 to Ahli at home in a game marked by a controversial red card for team skipper Mohamed Halim. The club's official request to replay the match was turned down by the FA. One week later, Toulan's side were handed a similar defeat at Zamalek, with the visitor's coach also unsatisfied by refereeing. Al-Hodoud are fifth in the local standings with 26 points.
