Petrojet coach Helmi Toulan was given a one-match touchline ban and fined EGP 10,000 for his offensive comments on referee Mohamed Farouk, who officiated Ahli's 1-0 win over the Petroleum side. A first-half goal from Geddo earned the Red Devils a hard-fought victory at Petrojet last week in an Egyptian Premier League game that was followed by accusations against the referee. Toulan said Farouk's decisions were biased towards Ahli, which from his perspective resulted in his team's loss. Later on, the former Harras Hodoud tactician ate humble pie, shortly after Petrojet voiced dissatisfaction over his verbal attack on Farouk. But despite his apology, Toulan was punished for his controversial statements. Now Petrojet, who lie eighth in the league table with 12 points, will play their next game against Ittihad on Friday without their head coach sitting in the dugout.
