Milan cautious of Lyon face-off
Published in FilGoal on 10 - 03 - 2006

AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani insisted that he is well aware of Lyon's threat to his side, in their coming UEFA Champions League match, based on their recent results and said he wasn't expecting an easy game.
"Lyon are a great side. Just because they do not have a prestigious history, people can underestimate them," Gailliani was quoted as saying by the official UEFA website on Friday.
"But their recent results are clear: they have won the French league four times in row and they are going to win again this year.
"Last year they were unlucky to go out in the quarter-finals against PSV Eindhoven. It won't be an easy game, we will have to play at our best," he added.
The Italian giants were drawn to play against Lyon in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, with the first-leg being on March 29th, while second-leg will take place on April fourth.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said that he was content with the UEFA Champions League draw and said that luck was on their side in being drawn to play the first-leg at home.

Lyon's Juninho
"It's a good draw. Playing the first leg at home is what we hoped for because Juninho Pernambucano is suspended for that game. We wanted him to be with us away from home.
"Some may complain but I'm satisfied. First because playing giants like Milan, whom we have never met, is very exciting.
"Then because I remember that we were told we had an easy draw for the last two years against FC Porto and PSV Eindhoven. It's also a good thing to play in Milan for our fans," Aulas said.
Juninho received his second booking in Lyon's 4-0 victory over Dutch club PSV Eindhover in the competition round of 16.
Lyon and last year's runners-up Milan have never met before in UEFA competitions.
