AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has played down rumours suggesting that he will resign from his post as President of the Italian Football League on Wednesday after the recent off-pitch scandals. “I won't resign because those that do in this country are seen as culprits,” Galliani was quoted as saying by Football Italia on Tuesday. Milan is caught in the middle of a huge match-fixing and bribery scandal, along with Juventus and Fiorentina, nevertheless, Galliani has insisted that he wasn't responsible for anything in that case. “I don't feel at all responsible for anything that has happened. In fact, I think I have always done well for the Lega Calcio,” Galliani insisted. On the other hand, Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi backed Galliani's decision to oppose those who want him out. “Adriano Galliani is right to not quit as President of the League,” the former Italian Prime Minister stressed. Berlusconi also revealed that he would make a comeback next season as Milan president, after losing in the Italian elections. “Milan will have a new President, it will be me. Now that I am no longer Prime Minister, there isn't a conflict of interests,” he said.
