Egypt's main stock index fell on Tuesday, with broad-based declines across benchmarks as local investors turned net sellers. The blue-chip EGX30 index dropped 0.92 per cent to 34,840.82 points. The EGX33 Shariah index lost 1.43 per cent to 3,457.76 points, while the EGX35-LV fell 1.72 per cent to 3,836.81 points. The EGX70 index of small- and mid-cap stocks slid 2.55 per cent to 10,591.1 points, and the broader EGX100 retreated 2.19 per cent to 14,034.87 points. Total market capitalisation stood at 2.49 trillion Egyptian pounds. Egyptians were net sellers with 28.3 billion pounds, while Arab investors and non-Arab foreigners were net buyers with 17.54 billion pounds and 10.77 billion pounds, respectively.
