Senegal's Amdy Faye expressed his happiness at his side's progress in the African Cup of Nations (ACN) and said that if they keep up this improvement, they could easily add another trophy to their silverware. "We are getting stronger with each game and we know we can do something at this tournament," Faye was quoted as saying by BBC Sport on Saturday.. "It's been a tough competition but once you reach the semi-finals, you have a stronger sense of going on, getting to the final and winning the trophy," he added. The Teranga Lions qualified to the African Cup quarter-finals only on goal difference but went on to beat Duinea 3-2 in the last-eight match that took place on Friday. Nevertheless, the Newcastle player insisted that Senegal were only warming up at the beginning of the African Cup and blamed being drawn to a hard group for their performance in the round of 16. "We did not do badly in the first round. We lost both our goals narrowly and because of little errors. It was hard to play Ghana, Nigeria and Zimbabwe all in a row," Faye said. Senegal will next face Egypt in the African Cup semi-final match that will take place on Tuesday, after the Pharaohs beat DR Congo 4-1 on Friday.
