European champions Liverpool have completed the signing of Villarreal defender Jan Kromkamp, the Premiership side said on Wednesday. The Dutch international signed for Liverpool in a deal that saw Spanish defender Josemi move in the direction. Kromkamp has passed a medical and completed the formalities of his move and will be unveiled at Anfield on Thursday, Liverpool's official website said. The 25-year-old right back is cup-tied with Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League, making him ineligible for the title holders this season. Kromkamp, who joined Villarreal from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2005, is the second Dutchman to join the Reds this season after compatriot Bolo Zenden. Both Liverpool and Villarreal secured passage to the Champions League knockout stages.
