Five nations have joined Asia's four and hosts Brazil to the 2014 World Cup finals. In Europe, Holland were the first nation to qualify after beating Andorra away 2-0, courtesy of a brace from Manchester United goal-machine Robin van Persie. The Oranje were soon joined by Italy, who won Group B with a 2-1 victory over Czech Republic, with Mario Balotelli scoring the winner from the spot. In South America, Argentina were inspired by a Lionel Messi brace to beat Paraguay 5-2 away and book their place in the finals. USA were the first to qualify from CONCACAF after goals from Eddie Johnson and Landon Donovan gave them a 2-0 victory over Mexico. The biggest surprise so far saw Costa Rica book their place after holding Jamaica to a 1-1 draw to secure second place in the CONCACAF.
