Egypt have moved up one place in the FIFA monthly ranking but are still far from moving into Africa's top ten. The seven-time African champions climbed to 61st in the August edition of FIFA as they are still struggling to improve their position continentally. Despite surpassing the likes of South Africa and Guinea, Egypt remain 11th among African nations. The Pharaohs were hoping for an outside chance to improve their position continentally ahead of the final World Cup qualifying round draw next month. Africa's decisive final round will see ten group winners drawn into five home-and-away games for the five tickets to the World Cup. The seeding for the draw will depend on FIFA's September ranking edition. Egypt meet Uganda in a friendly this month before taking on Guinea in a group game to spare in September.
