Ahli boss Mohamed Youssef says he is unhappy with Mohamed Barakat's decision to quit football at the end of the season. Barakat, 36, announced his retirement on Tuesday after nine glorious years with Ahli. "I am very sad because of Barakat's decision. I have to say I did not welcome this announcement," interim coach Youssef told the club's website. "I just wished he could stay on for another season because he is an irreplaceable player, technically on the pitch and on the personal level as well. "He is a model professional, a veteran, an influential force and one of the most decent players in the history of Egyptian football." Loss In the same manner, Ahli football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz said that Barakat's decision affects Egyptian football in general. "It is a big loss for Ahli in particular and for Egyptian football in general," the former winger said. "He has been one of the top stars who amazed fans with his goals and skills in recent years."
