Former Egypt international Ahmed Abou-Mosallam was on target for Lierse as Hany Ramzy's side sealed a vital 3-1 victory over relegation rivals Beerschot. Abou-Mosallam doubled Lierse's lead on the stroke of half time following Arjan Swinkels' opener to give his team an important advantage before the break. The 31-year-old was one of four Egyptians to feature for Ramzy's side, with Ahmed Saied ‘Ouka' and Mostafa Shebeita playing 90 minutes before Mohamed Al-Gabbas came on late in the game. The victory took Lierse out of the bottom two with 23 points, three more than Beerschot. The Egyptian-owned Lierse are set for a decisive month as they face Kortijk and Club Brugge in their remaining two games.
