Shikabala is no longer tied to Al-Wasl after the Egypt international's loan deal with the Emirate club has been rescinded by mutual consent, his agent claims. Shikabala, who joined in the close season on loan from Zamalek, has surprisingly been dropped by the Dubai club in the winter break following the arrival of Brazilian forward Jose Carlos Ferreira. Even so, the Egypt star was not free to join any club as he still had six months remaining on his Al-Wasl contract which was due to run out by the end of the season. As parent club Zamalek were not willing to recompense Al-Wasl in return of Shika's services, the 26-year-old was loan-listed before reaching a compromise with the Gulf side. "Shikabala is no longer tied down to Al-Wasl after reaching a middle solution with the club," the midfielder's agent Samir Abdul-Tawab told FilGoal.com. "We appreciate the flexibility shown by Al-Wasl officials to end the issue. "He will return to Zamalek but only for training. He is ineligible to play for Zamalek until next season." Shikabala, who missed out on all of Egypt's friendly games so far this year, has reportedly been offloaded by Al-Wasl for failing to report back in time for the second half of the season. It remains to be seen whether the midfield ace will be given another short-term move by Zamalek or will just remain at the club without playing competitive football.
