Mohamed Zidan slammed Bani Yas coach Jozef Chovanec, claiming that his frosty relationship with his Czech boss sealed his fate with the club. Despite being under a two-year contract, Zidan was dropped from Bani Yas roster for the second half of the season after the Abu Dhabi club signed the Egyptian's compatriot Mohamed Abou-Treika. Bani Yas officials criticized Zidan's attitude of late, stressing that the 31-year-old inexplicable absences forced the board to take action against him. However, the former Borussia Dortmund forward believes that the problem is personal. Weird “The problem is personal with coach Chovanec and the proof is that he doesn't even want me to train with the team," Zidan told Emirate newspaper Alittihad. “A board member informed me that the coach doesn't want me in training and this is really very uncommon. Even if I'm not in the squad, I play for Bani Yas not for Chovanec. “Since the beginning I could see that Chovanec treated me in a weird manner. “For example, he made me team captain and then suddenly decided to give the armband to someone else, even though I didn't ask to be captain in the first place. “He has always been criticizing me and accusing me of playing selfishly. “I think that soon enough people will realize that Chovanec is not qualified enough to manage a team like Bani Yas. His training technique is also very weird. “I have never lied about being injured and I only missed a couple of training sessions because of my late dues. Anyway I respect the board's decision and wish Bani Yas good luck."
