Yoyo wei miratuh Carmella fi beethum aashan yeqarraro ezzai yehitflu bi eid melad ibnohum Mimi, Youm el-Gomaa elli gaay.
Yoyo and his wife Carmella are at home, deciding on how to celebrate the birthday of their son, Mimi, next Friday.
Yoyo: Eih raeek nerouh el-nadi ashaan neemal el-hafla hinak, wei neizzam ashab Mimi min el-atfaal, wei negeeb sahar? Yoyo: What do you think about going to the club to throw a party there, invite Mimi's friends, other children, and have a magician?
Carmella: Fikrah kuwaisa ya Yoyo. Laken eih rayyak neemal el-haflaat fei maatam. Wei netaashah akl masri wayya Mimi we ashaaboh. Carmella: That's a good idea, Yoyo. But, what do you think about throwing the party at a restaurant, where we will eat Egyptian food with Mimi and his friends.
Yoyo: Fikrah helwa awi ya Carmella. Tayyeb, ha nakol eih hinak? Yoyo: That's a very sweet idea, Carmella. OK, what will we eat there?
Carmella: Ruz bil khaalta, wi lahma mashwiyaa [kabab], wi khodar sootie, wi teehinah, wi battates mehamarra.
Wei el-helw tortaat eid el-melad. Carmella: Rice with cow liver, grilled meat, sauteed vegetables, teehina and fried potatoes. And the dessert will be the birthday cake.
Yoyo: Tehibi terkabi markeb fi el-Nile wei nemaal el-hafla fiha? Yoyo: Would you like to ride a boat on the Nile and have the party on board? Carmella: Di fikrah azzemah ya Yoyo. Carmella: That is a great idea, Yoyo.
Yoyo: Walla tehbi neemal el-hafla fil-beit ya Carmella? Yoyo: Or would you like to have the party at home, Carmella?
Carmella: Leih laa? Carmella: Why not? Yoyo: Khalass. Nezien el-beit, wei neezim ashab Mimi, wei neemal akl lehim, wei neshtri torta kebira min mahal el-halawani elli ganb el-beit.
Yoyo: OK. We'll decorate the house, invite Mimi's friends, cook some food and buy a cake from the pastry shop near us.
Carmella: Alla fikra ana amalla lek mofagaa. Carmella: By the way, I have a surprise for you.
Yoyo: Eih heya? Yoyo: What is it? Carmella: Ana gebt hidyaat li Mimi aashan eid meladuh. Carmella: I've got a birthday present for Mimi. Yoyo: Eih heya? Yoyo: What is it? Carmella: Saaet eid. Carmella: A wristwatch.
Yoyo: Wei ana kaman gebt hidyaat li Mimi. Yoyo: Me too. I've got a birthday present for Mimi. Carmella: Eih heya? Carmella: What is it? Yoyo: Saaet eid bardoh! Yoyo: A wristwatch too!
