CAIRO - I spent an "exciting" week since the last article I wrote. On Sunday, as a very proud Egyptian I participated in demonstrations against the former regime, which I was totally against since it revealed its ugly face.
Ironically some in the West are very sad that Egypt is on the right track ... they actually claim that what happened in Egypt was a "military coup"! This is unbelievable. What on earth are they blubbering about?
Why did Obama support the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) when this gang is considered a terrorist group in many countries? Isn't he supposed to fight terrorism or is he holding on to an excuse to fight Egypt? Why did he waste the money of American taxpayers on supporting that Morsi and his clan?
I am sure you've heard about that deal made between Obama and what's his face who miserably ruled Egypt for a year. They say Obama paid him eight billion dollars to give a part of Sinai to the Palestinians and now the deal will not be made, the Congress will have no mercy on Obama.
The US President knows that the MB works closely with al-Qaeda, which the American authorities accused as being responsible for the September 11 attacks. Is Obama supporting al-Qaeda now? Does he want to have a scarecrow with which to threaten the world? Why are the US troops in Iraq? Aren't they supposed to be fighting terrorism? So now American soldiers are being killed by those Obama is supporting and all expenses are paid for by American taxpayers. That's an achievement. I wonder what the Democratic Party thinks of Obama now!
Never mind the opinion of official figures and let's move on to civilian individuals. I have dozens of American friends who are totally against the MB and now are also against Obama and that Patterson woman who assisted them in every way. Who is she to impose her decisions on our nation? I find this arrogant attitude very revolting and disgusting.
I will tell you the exact words two American gentlemen friends sent me. The first one said "Amr, I apologise for having a president who is such a communist". That's new – a communist ruling the United States of America? This is what an American man accused him of.
My other friend wrote "I understand the grievances many Egyptian had with Morsi and that Egyptians are in charge of their own destiny now, which is a good thing." This totally contradicts what the American Administration and its media are trying to claim.
Moreover, online petitions are being signed demanding Obama to stay out of this and also campaigns against him and CNN, which many viewers stopped watching because of its attitude. When a news channel is as blind as a bat then it is incapable of being in the field.
I will get back to CNN in a while but first let me tell you that dozens of thousands already joined a Facebook page called ‘Obama Supports Terrorism in Egypt'. This man will always be remembered for choosing terrorism over any other option.
By the way, every word I am saying is documented. I just don't want to implicate anyone but I do have the messages and I will keep them.
Most Egyptians are not happy at all, to say the least, with this suspicious American support. Although we don't have details, we know something is going on but it will be aborted.
America threatened to stop giving aid to Egypt, but let me remind the US administration that whatever Egypt gets from the States is not aid. When the money must be spent on US products and long-term contracts must be signed with American companies then this will not be regarded as help but as obligatory marketing. When the US decides for Egypt what to cultivate and also the quantities this will not be considered as good intentions. It's a very long list of terms and demands, which I am sure you can easily find on the Internet.
Now let's go back to the Western media. Some establishments and individuals had delusions about the whole situation. For instance, CNN kept ranting and raving endlessly and the end result was a pile of crap.
If CNN thinks that what happened in Egypt is a ‘military coup' then it shouldn't be in the news business. The whole world saw how many Egyptians participated in Sunday's demonstrations all over Egypt. Where were CNN people that day? They probably take Sundays off and missed the event. CNN should watch what was aired on all fair channels to know the truth. This is not a coup – it is the will of an entire nation and CNN lost its credibility by spreading malicious rumours that no one believes anyway. By altering facts and supporting a regime the vast majority of Egyptians don't want, CNN is supporting terrorism and promoting violence. You will not believe what people say about this channel now. Serves CNN right.
As for someone called Robert Fisk, apparently this man has been hiding under a rock over the past couple of months. Even the mass of Egyptians didn't wake him up from his deep sleep on Sunday. Was that the military disguised as millions of civilians? WOW! ... I never knew we have such an army. The military did not intervene till Wednesday and it was a civilian revolution. I know because I was involved in many things for a long time. Anyway, who cares? Being so blind won't enable him to change or influence the mind of a nation. We are the vast majority and this is our choice.
I would have loved to stay and chat a little longer but I am sorry I have to go now. It's Sunday, July 7 and I am on my way to another huge demonstration to confirm that we will never let Egypt down. To those who support our cause I thank you and as for the others who are trying to destroy Egypt I say you c an try as much as you want but it will all be in vain.
