CAIRO - The Giza Criminal Court adjourned the trial of steel baron Ahmed Ezz, who was a senior member and the main financier of the former ruling National Democratic Party, to November, after the businessman's defence team requested more time to study more documents related to the case. The steel baron and five of his associates are charged with profiteering, causing the national economy to lose LE5 billion, with the help of former industry minister Ibrahim Salem Mohamadeen. Last month, in another trial, Ezz was sentenced to ten years in jail for corruption and monopolising the steel industry.
