CAIRO - An Egyptian criminal court sentenced a bus driver to death for shooting dead six construction company employees while driving them to work, the official Middle East News Agency (MENA) has reported. Local media latched onto the unusual circumstances surrounding the rare multiple killing last July. The driver told investigators it was an act of revenge against three of the employees with whom he hatched a plan to steal antiquities, before they cut him out of the deal. "The Giza Criminal Court ordered ... the execution of the bus driver of Arab Contractors, Mahmoud Taha Swellem," MENA said. It said the 52-year-old driver, who used an automatic rifle in the attack, injured six other employees.
