CAIRO - An oil spill from a crashed truck caught fire in Old Cairo early, the police said. Firemen said the overturned truck was carrying 8 tonnes of car fuel (benzine) when it burst into flames on el-Sayyeda Aisha Bridge near Old Cairo. One unidentified man was critically injured in the accident that occurred when the truck careered off the bridge, they added. The spill caught fire around dusk, engulfing the whole truck, which exploded in a few seconds, the firemen said. "After the lorry overturned, it spilled a lot of petrol onto the bridge," they said, adding that 16 fire engines were rushed to the scene to put the flames under control and clean the bridge from oil.
