Cairo- No sooner had President Mubarak ended his 17-minute televised address in which he transferred his powers to Vice President Omar Suliman, when thousands of anti-regime protesters in Al Tahrir Square in central Cairo, shouted in unison : "Leave". They vowed to march on to the presidential palace Friday afternoon. The protesters, who have been camping out in the iconic square for 17 days, are pushing for Mubarak's immediate ouster. Mubarak, who has been in power for 30 years, reiterated in his Thursday night that he will stay until his term ends next September. He also vowed to toughly punish those involved in killing young protesters during anti-regime demonstrations.
