KIGALI - Burkina Faso became the second side from Africa to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Mexico 2011 as they sensationally beat group favourites Egypt 4-0 on Friday. The Burkinabe will join CAF U-17 Championship hosts Rwanda in the semi-finals from Group A after scoring three goals in the second half to knock the Egyptians into third place and out of the event. Rwanda lost on the day 1-0 to Senegal, but they were already through after beating Burkina Faso and Egypt to open the tournament. Burkina Faso, who have reached the semi-final stage of the U-17 World Cup three times previously, finish top of the group on goal difference, and they will face the runner-up from Group B next week in the last four. The second table will be finalised tomorrow when Gambia face Côte D'Ivoire and Congo take on Mali. The Congolese and Ivorians qualify with draws, while Mali are already eliminated, and defending champions Gambia must win to keep their hopes alive.
