CAIRO - The hot Cairo derby between traditional arch-rivals Ahly and Zamalek has been postponed at the request of the Ministry of Interior, the Egyptian Football Association's competition committee announced . The Interior Ministry asked the EFA to postpone the highly anticipated clash, due on November 26, because it would coincide with the nation's legislative elections. The committee decided to rearrange the game after receiving a letter from the Ministry. The committee is yet to set a new date for the game. The legislative elections will be held on November 28, two days after Zamalek were supposed to meet Ahly at Cairo Stadium. The Interior Ministry usually imposes tight security in the Cairo derbies due to the heated rivalry between both sides. The Ahly-Zamalek duels don't get violent, but the fans on both sides normally hold up huge banners with messages that mock each other. Ahly, who are chasing a seventh consecutive league title, were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw at lowly Gouna on Tuesday. The Red Devils are three points adrift of Zamalek, but they still have two games in hand. Meanwhile, Zamalek's coach Hossam Hassan is not worried about the postponement of the derby, but hopes to face Ahly before the January transfer window. He said that the club couldn't complain as long as it's a political decision.
