Published in The Egyptian Gazette on 19 - 09 - 2018

CAIRO, Sept 19 , 2018(MENA) - Slovak State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Lukas Parizek will embark on a two-day visit to Egypt on Saturday leading a delegation of businessmen for talks with Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Amr Ramadan on a set of regional and international issues of common interest.
Interviewed by MENA, the Slovak diplomat said his visit to Egypt aims at discussing bilateral cooperation as well as issues related to Egypt's relations with Visegrád Four, or (V4), a cultural and political alliance of four Central European states – the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, that are members of the European Union (EU) and NATO.
Talks will also tackle Egypt's relations with the European Union and a raft of important international issues topped by the situation in Syria and Libya, the Middle East peace process, terrorism-combat and illegal immigration, added the diplomat.
He also said Egypt will be invited to attend the annual Mediterranean Conference of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), to be held in Malaga, Spain from 25 to 26 October 2018.
On fields of cooperation between Egypt and Slovakia, Parizek said he will discuss with Egyptian officials potentials of cooperation in setting up investment projects in the Suez Canal Development Corridor in light of Slovakia's chairing the V4 Group.
He praised the favourable change in the investment climate in Egypt due to the structural changes in the legislation and the issuance of a new investment law that is expected to better enhance the investment climate and make it more open and transparent.
