The Visegrad Group has voiced support to Egypt in its war against terror, during the first round of political consultations between Egypt and the group's members in Cairo, Egyptian foreign ministry's spokesperson, Badr Abdel Atty said Thursday. The assistant foreign ministers of Visegrad Four, an alliance of four Central European states – Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, discussed with their Egyptian counterpart, Hatem Seif El Nasr ways to boost relations on political and economic levels. The meeting tackled a number of regional and international issues of common interest, notably efforts to combat terrorism, the Libyan and Syrian crises, and the Palestinian cause, as well as ways to enhance understanding and cooperation between Egypt and the EU in general. This meeting came a few days after Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi's successful visit to Hungary, founder of Visegrad, as he sought to push cooperation with the EU member.
