CAIRO, Aug 5, 2018 (MENA) --The General Command of the Egyptian Armed Forces announced that 39 takfiri elements were killed in recent days in north and central Sinai during the Comprehensive Operation – Sinai 2018, and that l3 others were killed in a fire exchange with security forces in Arish, the capital of North Sinai Governorate. In the 26th statement issued on Sunday, the general command added that 49 highly dangerous takfiri elements were arrested and 26 hideouts and weapons depots were destroyed. The operations have resulted in the following successes: - The Air Forces targeted and destroyed 15 vehicles laden with weapons and ammunition which were to be smuggled into the country via the western borders, in addition to destroying 17 other vehicles in the sourthern military zone. - Thirty-nine takfiris were killed in various parts of northern and central Sinai. Five machine guns, ammunition and one explosive charge were in their possession. - 64 explosive devices were dismantled.
