CAIRO, April 25, 2018 – The security forces killed 30 takfiris and arrested 173 others in central and north Sinai as part of a comprehensive military operation to uproot terror hotbeds there, the army said in its 20th televised communiqué on Wednesday. Nasser Abu Zakul, top commander of a terrorist group in central Sinai, was among the takfiris killed, the statement said. The security troops, comprising military and police forces, eliminated three hideouts of takfiris and destroyed 10 vehicles carrying arms and ammunitions, it said. The security forces also seized and destroyed 26 cars and 25 motorbikes without plates in the raids. A total of 437 hideouts and warehouses were destroyed. Moreover, the security forces wiped out 38 farms of bhang in central and north Sinai, the statement added. According to the statement border guards and engineers of the armed forces destroyed a number of tunnels in Rafah, north Sinai.
