GIZA, Egypt, July 14, 2018 (MENA) - Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziry underscored the importance of the new archaeological discovery at Giza's Saqqara area. In statements to MENA, Waziry said the new discovery has disclosed information about the secret of mummification in ancient Egypt. Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Antiquities announced that five stone coffins were discovered at Saqqara area. A mummification workshop and burial chambers with mummies dating back to the 26th and 27th dynasties were also found. Work may take several years in the area to unearth more wells there, he added.
