CAIRO, July 5, 2018 (MENA) - Environment Minister Yasmin Foad tackled Thursday with Trade Minister Amr Nassar means to coordinate efforts between the two ministries in issues connected with the environmental conditions of industrial facilities. During the meeting, both sides reviewed mechanisms of coordination between the Environment Ministry and the Industrial Development Authority, in light of the Industrial Licensing Law 15/2017, as well as means to achieve compatibility with the Environment Law 4/1994. The Environment Law 4/1994 and its amendments assigned the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency to outline a general policy and needed plans for protecting and developing the environment, as well as specify requirements, by which business owners should abide, said the environment minister. Foad pointed out that her ministry's policy essentially aims to build strong cooperation with all ministries, through integrating the environmental dimension into their plans and strategies. For his part, the trade minister said that the Industrial Licensing Law 15/2017 entrusted the Industrial Development Authority with issuing licences needed for establishing and operating industrial facilities as well as identifying requirements needed for obtaining such licences.
