Zamalek's inking of contract with Gross "big gain"
Published in The Egyptian Gazette on 03 - 07 - 2018

CAIRO, July 3, 2018 (MENA) - Zamalek Chairman Mortada Mansour said a one-season contract with Swiss coach Christian Gross represents a big gain for the Egyptian football powerhouse club.
In statements at a press conference on Tuesday, Mansour said the 63-year-old Gross, who replaced axed coach Ehab Galal, will have four aides.
Gross will lead the team at its training camp in Germany, he added.
Born on August 14, 1954, Christian Jürgen Gross is a Swiss professional football manager and former footballer.
He was manager of FC Basel from July 1, 1999 to May 27, 2009, winning four Swiss Super Leagues and four Swiss Cups.
Meanwhile, Mansour said the club will take a final decision on Tuesday on inking a contract with either a Colombian defender or Ayoub Ka'bi.
He also announced some administrative changes in the club, including the appointment of a new director for the club with four aides in addition to a security director and two aides.
Swiss coach Christian Gross thanked Zamalek Chairman Mortada Mansour and the club's board for their great confidence, pledging to do his best to serve the club.
Gross said he respects all competitors, but he will seek that Zamalek would be the best.
