CAIRO, May 27, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a telephone call from his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron Sunday to discuss means to enhance an existing partnership between their countries. The two leaders also talked about attempts to restore stability in Libya, with Macron praising strenuous efforts exerted by Egypt to unify the Libyan military establishment, said presidential spokesman Bassam Radi. Egypt, Sisi told Macron, is acting to reach a political solution to the crisis in Libya. He stressed the need to perfectly prepare for the upcoming Libyan elections to be held later this year. The conversation also focused on the latest developments in Syria and international efforts to reach a political solution to end the suffering of the Syrian people, Radi noted. Sisi and Macron agreed to continue consultation and coordination regarding issues of mutual concern.
