CAIRO, April 29, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised the close relations between Egypt and France in all fields. This came in a meeting between Sisi and French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, acting chief of general intelligence and the French ambassador in Cairo. Spokesman for the presidency Bassam Rady said Sisi asked Le Drian to convey his greetings to the French President Emmanuel Macron. President Sisi stressed the importance of continuing to work on boosting cooperation between both countries in the coming period and exchange high level visits to insure enhancing ongoing partnership between Cairo and Paris in all fields, especially counter-terrorism field. The president reviewed the efforts exerted by Egypt in the fight against terrorism, underlining that terrorism is the enemy of humanity, underscoring the need to enhance ongoing coordination between the two countries over regional issues. Both sides also discussed the Syrian crisis, as Sisi stressed Egypt's position towards the crisis, which calls to a political settlement of the crisis so as to guarantee the unity of the Syrian territories and achieve the will of the Syrian people. Rady pointed out that Le Drian conveyed to Sisi the greetings of the French President, highlighting the special and distinguished relations between the two countries as France is one of the most important partners in the Middle East to Egypt.
