Zamalek secure CAF Confederations Cup spot

CAIRO, May 16, 2018 - After lifting the Egypt Cup trophy Zamalek have secured a spot in next season's CAF Confederations Cup alongside Al-Masry.
The White Knights managed to save their disastrous season after beating Smouha in the Egypt Cup final on penalties.
According to CAF regulations the third-placed team in the Egyptian Premier League and the Cup winner both qualify for the Confederations Cup. This means that Zamalek will be participating in the competition alongside third-placed Al-Masry.
Al Ahly and Ismaily will represent Egypt in the CAF Champions League next season as they finished first and second on the Egyptian League table respectively.
Following this win Zamalek will now face arch rivals and Egyptian champions Al Ahly in the Egyptian Super Cup.
