Egypt, ENI sign a cooperation protocol to support establishing a training centre for health cadres in Port Said

Egypt's Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between his ministry and the Italian company ENI to support the project of establishing a training centre for health cadres in Port Said Governorate.
This came on Tuesday, during Abdel Ghaffar's visit to Rome as part of a long-term partnership with the Italian side aimed at improving the services provided to the Egyptian citizen.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that ENI is cooperating with the Egyptian Ministries of Health and Petroleum in order to improve health care services provided to citizens.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the signing of the protocol came after several visits to the Minister of Health and Population, during which he inspected Gemelli and Bambino Gesu hospitals, as distinguished Italian institutions in the treatment and research fields.
He noted that the minister was briefed during his visit on the latest health services provided in the two hospitals, and praised the research and treatment systems used in treating patients and the great research development in the field of disease detection and treatment protocols.
Abdel Ghaffar indicated that the two visits were followed by an initial agreement to cooperate in transferring Italian research and treatment expertise to the hospitals of the Ministry of Health and Population, as well as training Egyptian medical personnel in those hospitals.
Gemili Hospital is one of the largest university hospitals in Europe and the largest in Italy. It provides services in all medical specialities, while Bambino Gesu Hospital is a tertiary academic hospital for children, it offers more than 20 specialties of healthcare through 10 pediatric departments.
