Egypt-Denmark trade exchange records $292.2m in 11M 2022: CAPMAS

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) has revealed that the trade exchange between Egypt and Denmark reached $292.2m in the first 11 months of 2022, compared to $321.2m in the same period in 2021, a decrease of 9%.
According to the agency, the value of Egyptian exports to Denmark increased to $49.2m in the first 11 months of 2022, compared to $39.4m in the same period in 2021, an increase of 25.1%, while the value of Egyptian imports from Denmark amounted to $243m, compared to $281.8m, a decrease of 13.8%.
Regarding the top 10 commodity groups that Egypt exported to Denmark during the first 11 months of 2022, CAPMAS explained that fodder came in first place at $23.1m, followed by clothes at $11.9m, ready-made textile at $3.2m, fruits at $3.1m, appliances and electrical equipment at $1.3m, glass at $1.2m, aluminum and its products at $1.2m, vegetables at $905,800, plants at $801,600, and salt and sulfur at $469,100.
As for the most important commodity groups that Egypt imported from Denmark, they included pharmaceutical products at $92.1m, milk and dairy products at $24.5m, machinery and automatic devices at $21.3m, albuminous materials at $20m, equipment for optics at $13.1m, organic chemical products at $13.1m, food preparations at $12.6m, appliances and electrical equipment at $7.3m, chemical products at $6.6m, and vegetables and plants at $6.1m.
According to the agency, the value of Danish investments in Egypt amounted to $20.3m during the first quarter of fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $9m in the same period of FY 2021/2022, an increase of 125.6%.
Egyptian expats' remittance inflows from Denmark amounted to $16m in FY 2020/2021, compared to $10.4m in FY 2019/2020, an increase of 53.7%, while Danish expats' remittance inflows from Egypt amounted to $876,000 in 2020/2021, compared to $749,000 in 2019/2020, an increase of 17%.
