76.2% increase in trade exchange between Egypt, Qatar in 11M 2022: CAPMAS

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced on Monday an increase in the value of trade exchange between Egypt and Qatar, reaching $80.1m during the first 11 months of 2022, compared to $45.5m in the same period in 2021, a growth of 76.2%.
The value of Egyptian exports to Qatar recorded $19.7m during the first 11 months of 2022, compared to $3.5m during the same period in 2021, an increase of 458.3%, while the value of Egyptian imports from Qatar amounted to $60.4m, compared to $42m, an increase of 44.1%.
Regarding the most important commodity groups that Egypt exported to Qatar during the first 11 months of 2022, plastics and their products came first with a value of $4.9m, then ready-made furniture and facilities with a value of $3.4m, then machinery, appliances and electrical equipment with a value of $2.8m, then manufactured goods of iron or steel with a value of $2m, then glass with a value of $1.6m.
As for the commodity groups that Egypt imported from Qatar during the first 11 months of 2022, they were iron and steel with a value of $20.5m, then plastics and their manufactures with a value of $20.4m, then various chemical products with a value of $5m, then organic chemical products with a value of $4.7m, then boilers, machinery and automatic devices with a value of $3.7m.
The value of Qatari investments in Egypt amounted to $518.3m during the fiscal year 2021/2022, compared to $507.9m during the fiscal year 2020/2021, an increase of 2%.
The value of remittances of Egyptians working in Qatar recorded $1.5bn during the fiscal year 2020/2021, compared to $1.3bn during the fiscal year 2019/2020, an increase of 14.3%, while the value of remittances from Qatari people working in Egypt amounted to $1.8m during the fiscal year 2020/2021, compared to $2.8m during the fiscal year 2019/2020, a decrease of 34%.
