46.3% increase in Egyptian exports to Romania during 10M 2022

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) has revealed an increase in the value of Egyptian exports to Romania, reaching $369.7m during the first 10 months of 2022, compared to $252.7m during the same period in 2021, an increase of 46.3%.
According to the agency, the value of Egyptian imports from Romania amounted to $1bn during the first 10 months of 2022, compared to $750.5m during the same period in 2021, an increase of 39.5%.
It pointed to the increase in the value of trade exchange between Egypt and Romania, to record $1.4bn during the first 10 months of 2022, compared to $1bn during the same period of 2021, an increase of 41.2%.
Fertilizers came at the forefront of the most important commodity groups that Egypt exported to Romania during the first 10 months of 2022 with a value of $142.7m, then iron and steel with a value of $47.7m, then plastics and their articles with a value of $43.6m, then vegetables and plants with a value of $25m, then articles of stone worth $10.9m.
On the other hand, grains came at the forefront of the most important commodity groups that Egypt imported from Romania at a value of $872.8m, then wood and its articles with a value of $39.1m, then iron and steel with a value of $32.9m, then tobacco with a value of $17.1m, then articles of iron or steel with a value of $12.4m.
The value of Romanian investments in Egypt amounted to $2.7m during the fiscal year 2020/2021, compared to $2.4m during the fiscal year 2019/2020, an increase of 11.5%.
According to the agency, the value of remittances of Egyptians working in Romania recorded $4.79m during the fiscal year 2020/2021 compared to $4.83m during the fiscal year 2019/2020, a decrease of 0.8%, while the value of remittances of Romanians working in Egypt amounted to $1.5m, compared to $1.7m, a decrease of 10.2%.
