Egypt's Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar inspected on Saturday, the quarantine at Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport, to review the final preparations for the implementation of the health insurance system, for the COP27 in November.
This came as part of a field tour by the minister in Sharm El-Sheikh, to inspect the quarantine, several medical facilities, and places of residence and reception for delegations, as part of the field review of the health insurance system's preparations for the COP27.
During the minister's inspection, the minister directed to increase in the number of thermal gates to avoid crowdedness, as well as directing him to allocate specific routes for arriving guests.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the minister inspected the clinic rooms in quarantine, to check their readiness and the availability of all medical and preventive supplies.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister directed to inform the delegations participating in the conference about the information on health services provided by the ministry in medical facilities, and the locations of those facilities in Sharm El Sheikh, by allocating a "barcode" that allows this information in quarantine.
He indicated that the minister completed his tour by inspecting Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital, which has been fully developed and upgraded. The development included providing the hospital with a multi-use catheter device (cardiac, cerebral, blood vessels), endoscopes (surgical, digestive), sound wave devices and X-ray devices.
Abdel Ghaffar further explained that the minister directed the identification of dedicated paths for those attending the hospital, from among the delegations participating in the conference, stressing the continuation of providing all medical services to citizens who frequent the hospital during the period of the conference activities.
Moreover, the minister inspected the central control room at Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital, which links the hospital to all sectors of the ministry concerned with implementing the health insurance plan for the climate conference, which is linked to the unified national network for emergencies and public safety, in order to quickly deal with any crises or emergencies.
