Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Sherif Elwy, Managing Director and Vice Chairperson of the Arab African International Bank (AAIB), witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and the AAIB with the aim of preparing specialized cadres in various technological domains.
The protocol was signed by Heba Saleh, Chairperson of the ITI, and Engy Wahdan, head of human resources in AAIB.
Amr Talaat said that this cooperation is an embodiment of the vision and strategy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to build digital capabilities, which aims to bridge the gap between the outputs of the educational process and the actual requirements of the labor market in the fields of information and communication technology, by providing specialized training programmes. This would eventually prepare young people to obtain distinguished job opportunities.
Talaat pointed out that information and communication technology serves as a common denominator in all sectors, including the financial and banking services sector, with the growing role of financial technology and the reliance on innovative technological solutions to improve the efficiency of operations in financial institutions. This is happening in conjunction with rapid developments in the digital economy.
Under the protocol, ITI will implement training programmes for AAIB, in line with its work plans. These programmes will be in the areas of high demand as well as advanced technologies, including but not limited to mobile applications, web applications, information security, cloud computing, and others.
The protocol also stipulates that the two parties participate in designing the training programme, selecting trainees, supervising graduation projects, and creating job opportunities, in addition to the final evaluation of the programme. Additionally, ITI prepares training requirements, implements the programme, and monitors its work at the headquarters of the AAIB.
The training programme will be implemented through a mixed approach, including live training lectures in addition to online lectures and on-the-job training at the headquarters of the AAIB.
