IDH participates in IFC session on leadership in high quality Egyptian healthcare
Quality process ongoing, never-ending process that requires teamwork, integral part of IDH's strategy, says Hend El Sherbiny

Hend El-Sherbiny, CEO of the leading healthcare company IDH, has participated in an International Finance Corporation (IFC) webinar on quality and patient safety as key drivers of growth and leadership in healthcare.
The webinar witnessed the participation of a group of specialists in the field and those concerned with the importance of quality and its impact on achieving reform and development in the health sector. These are particularly establishments and entities that provide health care services.
The webinar discussed several aspects, most notably the importance of quality in health care and its being a primary catalyst for healthy development.
It also discussed the reflection of quality on economic development and the role of the Egyptian Government in supporting reform in the health sector. This included a qualitative leap in creating opportunities to improve and develop quality in health facilities.
During her participation, El-Sherbiny said, "Quality is a vital issue in healthcare, and IDH's long journey is proof of that."
She added, "In 2010, we obtained the international CAP accreditation from the American Society of Pathologists, and we are the only company to obtain this accreditation in Egypt."
She pointed out that in 2018, the company began providing radiology services in Egypt that requires the highest levels of safety and security for patients.
"We have studied obtaining the accreditation of the American College of Radiology to set all the necessary standards for radiology services," El-Sherbiny noted, "We cooperate with many international institutions and bodies in order to improve the quality of our services to comply with the standards of the American College of Radiology."
She also said that IDH has recently secured $45m in financing from the IFC to fund its future expansion plans.
At the same time, it will provide high-quality diagnostic services in high-growth emerging markets, as well as strengthening its presence in Egypt, Jordan, Nigeria, and Sudan.
Others who have participated in the session included: moderator Walid El-Labadi, director of the IFC for Egypt, Yemen and Libya; Ashraf Ismail, President of the General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation; Magdy Bakr, Advisor to the President of the Health Care Authority for Technical Affairs; Khaled Samir, member of the Board of Directors at the Chamber of Healthcare Providers in the Private Sector in the Federation of Industries, and CEO of Dar Al Oyoun Hospitals; Mohamed Azab, representative of Seha Healthcare; and Daniel Vinas, representative of Mediterrania Capital Partners.
