Madbouly's government sworn before Al-Sisi, changes include defence, interior ministers

Egypt's new cabinet sworn on Thursday, before President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi after days from appointing Mostafa Madbouly who will also remain Minister of Housing, as the new prime minister, succeeding Sherif Ismail who has resigned early this month.
The new cabinet has the highest rate if women ministers ever by 8 ministers.
The new cabinet included an unexpected change in ministries of defence and interior. Lieutenant General Mohamed Zaki appointed as new Minister of Defence, succeeding Sedki Sobhi. Zaki was the leader of the paratroops, and was the leader the presidential guards during the presidency of former president Mohamed Morsi. He was also a witness in the case of "conspiracy" which Morsi is accused of. In 2017, Zaki was promoted to be a Lieutenant General.
General Mahmoud Tawfik, the head of the national security agency, has been named for Ministry of Interior, succeeding Magdi Abdel Ghaffar.
Most of minister of Sherif Ismail government remained in their posts, including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, as Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Shaker, Ghada Wali, as Minister of Social Solidarity, Mohamed El-Assar, as Minister of State for Military Production, Sahar Nasr, as Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, as Minister of Religious Endowment (Awkaf), and Tarek El-Molla, as Minister of Petroleum and Metallurgical Wealth.
The remained ministers include also, Nabila Makram, as Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, Mohamed Abd El atty, as Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Khaled al Anani, as Minister of Antiquities, Ali Ali Moselhi, as Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Tarek Shawki, as Minister for Education and Technical Education, Omar Marwan, as Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, as Minister of Higher Education, Hala Al-Said, as Minister of Planning, Hesham Arafat, as Minister of Transportation, Inas Abdel Dayem, as Minister of Culture, Mohamed Hussam Ahmed, as Minister of Justice, and Rania Al-Mashat, as Minister of Tourism.
The new ministers include, Mohamed Moait, as Minister of Finance, Amr Bayoumi, as Minister of Trade and Industry, and Hesham Tawfik, as Minister of Public Enterprise Sector.
The new list also includes, Younus Al-Masry, as Minister of Civil Aviation, Al-Masry has graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1979, and was appointed as leader of the Egyptian air force in 2012. Hala Zayed, appointed as a Minister of Health and Population, she was heading the Supreme Committee for Combating Corruption at the ministry, and chief of the 57357 Academy of Health Sciences.
Yasmeen Salah Al-Din, was appointed as a Minister of Environment, she was an assistant professor at the faculty of economics and political science at Cairo University. For 4 years, Fouad was serving as a deputy minister for sustainable development.
Amr Talaat, the former Country General Manager at IBM Egypt, was appointed as the minister of Communications and Information Technology. He has a master of Science in information technology from Illinois Institute of Technology, and an MBA from ESLSCA University, France.
Ashraf Sobhi, was appointed as Minister of Youth and Sports, he was the head of Cairo Stadium committee, and assistant of the minister of youth in 2014. He is also a professor at faculty of physical education at Helwan University. Sobhi was also chief of the distributiveness committee for the Arab championship for universities in 2010, and member of the council of Egypt's football association.
Mahmoud Shaarawy, was appointed as Minister of Local Development. Since his graduation from the police faculty, Shaarawy served at the national security agency, and he was leading the administration of confronting extremism in the agency, after that he was appointed as an assistant for the head of the national security agency.
Ezz El-Din Abou Steet, was appointed as Minister of Agriculture, he has a PhD in agricultural sciences from North Carolina University in the US in 1983. He was involved in several national studies for developing the agricultural sector.
The new government included also the highest number ever of deputy ministers.
