Published in Daily News Egypt on 14 - 04 - 2018

Under the auspices and presence of Sahar Nasr, minister of investment and international cooperation, the Hapi investment conference will be held at the Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo on Sunday 29 April, entitled Egypt on the World Investment Map.
The idea of the conference is to gather representatives of Arab, African, Asian, American, and European investors in three sessions, each discussing the future of foreign investment in Egypt and the plans of Egyptian and foreign companies in the coming period.
The first session will discuss Egypt's position on the map of Gulf investments during the current year, and the opportunities and challenges of investment in a number of sectors, including telecommunications, healthcare, education, and direct investment in private property, uncovering the economic sectors attracting investors of the Arabian Gulf at present and prioritising them. The session will also address whether the Gulf region is interested in sectors of the banking industry in Egypt.
The second session will focus on the vision of the European and American business representatives of the development and investment environment in Egypt in light of the results of the economic reform programme, the opportunities to maximise investment portfolios targeting the Middle East markets, and the plans of companies to expand in the industrial sector, following improvements in infrastructure. It will also analyse the challenges and opportunities in the new technological parks and the necessary measures to put Egypt back on the world tourism map.
The third session will discuss the ability of the private sector to benefit from the government's interest in joint economic relations with the countries of Asia and Africa by examining the challenges and opportunities in the most attractive sectors of Afro-Asian capital, the incentives for exchange of investments among these countries, the possibility of more electronic manufacturing opportunities similar to Korea's Samsung and LG, as well as the expansion plans for Egyptian companies on the continent.
The conference will also feature a series of interviews with high-level figures, which will reveal the details of the development of economic plans and the role of entities representing the business community in facing the challenges of their sectors and seizing the opportunities available to them.
In a related context, the conference will witness the announcement of the Hapi Economic Portal, which seeks to provide advanced content in various forms of presentation and a new model, in addition to the Hapi newspaper, which will see its first issue during the conference.
The founding team of the Hapi portal and newspaper includes Ahmed Radwan, former editor-in-chief at Al-Mal newspaper, who will be editor-in-chief at Hapi, as well as Yasmeen Mounir and Radwa Ibrahim, both his former deputies at Al-Mal newspaper, who will be managing editors at Hapi.
