Marrakesh – The International Monetary Fund (IMF) launched on Monday the Opportunity for All in Marrakesh, Morocco to create jobs, promote comprehensive growth in the Arab World, and turn the debate over Arab sustainable growth from recognition into implementation. Egypt participated in the two-day conference on 29 and 30 January, represented by a delegation consisting of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), the Ministries of Finance and Social Solidarity, and Fawry, in the presence of officials from Arab countries and the IMF. The speakers include Moroccan Prime Minister Saadeddine Othmani, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde, and Abdul Rahman Al Humaidi, chairperson and director general of the Arab Monetary Fund. Lubna Mohammed Helal, deputy governor of the CBE, is due to chair a session titled Promotion of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Arab World, with the participation of Ashraf Sabri, founder and CEO of Fawry. The participants from the public, private, and informal sectors will share their experiences and explore ways to create more jobs benefiting from new growth sources. The conference's first day is dedicated to innovation laboratories that aim at identifying the participating parties' experiences concerning the obstacles facing sustainable growth, and stimulating ideas and possible solutions to be added to the conference's closing statement. The second day aims to share experiences on reforms and discuss the issues raised in the innovation labs to learn the participants' views on the suggested solutions.
