Siemens is considering investing in technology solutions for the New Administrative Capital, according to chairperson and managing director Emad Ghaly.
In exclusive statements to Daily News Egypt, Ghaly said, "We are in touch with the concerned authorities in the New Administrative Capital to present technology solutions that we can implement in the New Administrative Capital, Building technology, electricity distribution technology, or smart grid solution."
He added that the stakeholders are considering the technological solutions offered in their favour to reach advanced stages of negotiations.
According to Ghaly, the volume of the company's business increased during the past two years significantly and achieved the largest volume of business in its history in Egypt following the signing of the contract for the construction of three power plants worth €6bn with a production capacity of 14.4 MW
The Ministry of Industry and Siemens signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of modernisation of the industrial sector and the development of local industrial skills.
The memorandum includes Siemens' provision of advanced digital solutions, a number of technological developments, and transfer of technology to the Egyptian side in various industrial sectors, in line with the main themes of the vision of Egypt 2030, which aims to build a strong economy based on a variety of activities.
The memorandum was signed at the Siemens Forum on Digital Transformation in Egypt, the first forum ever in Cairo to highlight the role of technology in production.
Siemens will provide a complete range of innovative products, systems, and solutions designed for industrial zones in Egypt, allowing the transformation of these areas into smart industrial zones.
The launch of the collaboration is expected to begin in Roubiki Leather City in Cairo and Damietta for furniture. Siemens' solutions will cover planning, industrial data security, integrated production management systems, and energy efficiency solutions.
