Cairo: Al Ahly club has signed Tunisian midfielder Anis Boujelbene from Sfaxien on a two-and-half year contract for $50.000, the African champions said on Monday. Boujelbene will be paid $400.000 as signing fees and monthly salaries till June 2009, marketing manager Adli Al-Qayei said. The 29-year-old Boujelbene, who can play on the left wing or in the heart of the midfield, was close on joining Zamalek but a financial deal wasn t sealed. He is likely to replace Gilberto in Ahly s squad as the Angolan winger suffers from a long-term Achilles injury. Al-Qayei said that Boujelbene will be Ahly s last signing during the winter transfer window. The Egyptian title holders have already signed Olympic right winger Ahmed Adel and Assiut Petroleum striker Abdul-Hamid Hassan.
