DRESDEN: German prosecutors say a psychiatric expert has determined that a man being tried for the fatal courtroom stabbing of a pregnant Egyptian woman can be held criminally responsible. Prosecutor Frank Heinrich said the finding emerged from closed-door testimony at the Dresden state court Thursday. Oliver Wallasch, a lawyer for co-plaintiffs, said the expert found no indications of mental illness. Defendant Alexander Wiens has acknowledged carrying out the attack in July on 31-year-old Marwa Al-Sherbini but insists he didn t plan the assault. The stabbing happened during a hearing over a complaint Al-Sherbini filed against Wiens accusing him of insulting her with racial slurs. He faces charges of murder, attempted murder and dangerous bodily harm. -AP
